Buenos Aires, November 22 (NA) – A driver was arrested for driving with a counterfeit license plate on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway. Official sources informed the Argentine News Agency that inspectors from the Buenos Aires Provincial Ministry of Transport's Road Safety Department were conducting a preventive patrol when they detected that the man was traveling in a gray Volkswagen UP at kilometer 21.5 with a spurious license plate. The officers activated the emergency protocol and intercepted the vehicle to verify the driver's identity, after which the relevant report was drawn up. Driving with fake license plates is a serious traffic offense, as is using a cell phone, driving on the shoulder, or not wearing a seatbelt.
